چکیده

Introduction: Escherichia coli (E. coli) is one of the main bacterial species associated with urinary tract infections. Nowadays, this bacterium becoming more and resistant to antibiotics. Objective: The aim study was determine antibiotic sensitivity profiles all strains E. isolated from urine during period September 1st, 2018 March 13th, 2019 at Biomedical Laboratory China-Guinea Friendship Hospital Kipé in Conakry. Materiel Methods: Cultures were done on different agar media. Bacterial identification, antibiograms determination minimum inhibitory concentrations (MIC) performed Vitek 2 Compact 15 automated system. Results: A total 66 have been patients both sexes. sex ratio (M/F) 0.43. mean age 50.83 years. majority sensitive imipenem (96.96%), amikacin ertapenem (94.73%), gentamicin (69.23%), tobramycin (60, 60%), cefoxitin (64.28%), cefotaxime (62.50%), piperacillin/tazobactam (77.4%), amoxicillin/clavulanic acid (50.00%) nitrofurantoin (87%). In contrast, ampicillin (81.81%), cefalotin (62.02%), ticarcillin (88.00%), nalidixic (82.75%), ciprofloxacin (56.06%), ofloxacin (56.00%) combination trimethoprim/sulfamethoxazole (83.60%), sometimes high MICs. Conclusion: Our results show that infections due are frequently observed females than males. Some these studied exhibited multidrug resistance Among classes antibiotics tested, carbapenemes, nitrofurans, aminoglycosides, appear be active uropathogenes Guinea.

Biofilm and Extended Spectrum Beta Lactamase Production amongst Uropathogenic Escherichia Coli Isolates at the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital, Nigeria

Background and Aims: Uropathogenic Escherichia coli (UPEC) are considered major reservoir for genes encoding antimicrobial resistance. The mechanism of resistance and persistence of UPEC has been attributed to the production of biofilm and Extended Beta Lactamase (ESBL). This hospital-based prospective study determined how biofilm and ESBL production facilitate antibacterial resistance amongst ...
